In which PC Hemmer has a bout of logorrhea, an ailment Mr Blair cannot remedy.

No joke, I'm pretty sure this is the wordiest page I've ever written, and hopefully ever will write.

I can't promise a Sunday update this week because I'm out of pages to ink, but I will try!

if he'd been abusing her, i suddenly don't care much what happens to the husband, haha.... (love your art style by the way)

@capitalistpastry: Thanks! And yeah, it's amazing how quickly one's sympathy can disappear! Maybe even Mr Due-Justice here would agree xP

Hmm, the abuse makes it trickier because it does make it more likely he killed her (possibly accidentally) but then you also can't nick someone for murder they didn't commit, even if it's an abuser... And this makes me wonder how they see domestic abuse (both legally and culturally), could it be something the husband would be arrested for... (Obviously you don't have to answer spoilery questions, it's just my train of thought as I read on!)

@Oly-RRR: The amount of thought you put into this makes me feel bad that this isn't a big part of the plot. (It's my fault for giving Hemmer a page to talk about it!)
Since it's not really a part of the plot and will barely be mentioned: if they go with Blair's theory, the husband can't get nicked for murder, but he can be nicked for just as long for the abuse, plus extra for not cooperating.

@eishiya: No worries, it's just one of the things I end up focusing on if they are in a story at all! Especially since there are clear definitions there when in comes to legal terms but humans being humans makes everything more blurry and nearly unpredictable when it comes to the outcome (especially if the jury is involved).

And good to know the husband can be punished for abuse - I expected that from how Blair saw it as a reason for him to flee, but the general old-timey-ness of the setting still made me wonder if they might close their eyes on men punching women about...
